Question: What are the benefits of becoming a member?
Answer:
- The exclusive privilege to wear any of our “C+” apparels which signifies UNITY, IDENTITY and FAMILY.
- Identity – We are proud to be identified as Conquerors+ Members. Showing people how to live a joyful and abundant life according to John 10:10.
- Unity – We are united in our Mission and to the Core Values of Fun, Fitness, Faith and Fellowship.
- Family – We are blessed to belong in the family of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Apparels multi- purpose: We believe that wearing our club apparels are good tools for evangelism. It is an effective visual witness and testimony of what we believe as a club. Therefore, we encourage every member to at least wear one type of apparel in every event whether a T-shirt, jacket, sweatshirt or a hat. Just like an army of God - let our uniformity testify. Our apparel evangelizes as we are having fun.
- Privilege to attend “Members only” meetings, access to Members only network website; eligibility to vote or be part of the committee.
Question: Is there any thing else I need to know about the Conquerors + Club?
Answer:
- Yes, this club is a private club and we have the right to refuse participation or membership to any one.
- Some events may be physically strenuous, so please know your own physical abilities and limitations. Each person is responsible for their own safety. Always take precaution on every decision or risks you take in any of the club’s activities.
- The club and its members observe and maintain due respect to all attendees whether they are Christians or not. Therefore, we ask all our participants and guests to also be respectful of everyone at all times.
- This club has a tradition of reciting its “C+ Creed” and having a prayer before or during an event in all Conquerors+ self initiated or organized events.
- Most importantly, so as to never be misunderstood, we emphasize that our activities is never to replace any ones personal time of worship and meditation in God. We truly believe that unless a person has a healthy, strong and confident relationship with God in the spirit first, he or she will never attain true joy and fulfillment in life no matter how he/she tends to his soul and body. Mere activities will never deliver anyone from the emptiness inside, but only through a strong personal relationship with God.
Question: Why do you have to recite a creed?
Answer: Creed is our club's unique tradition. We believe in the importance of confessing our faith. By reciting our creed (which is based on the word of God), it helps build our spirit up. It reminds us of who we are in Christ: “more than conquerors”.
Question: Why create a Christian Sports and Recreation Club?
Answer: Several reasons:
- Many “religious” Christians unfortunately neglect the importance of a well balanced life. Many have deceived themselves that a Christian lifestyle is all about directly doing church related activities which they define “spiritual”. They neglect to tend to the other parts of their whole being, which are the soul (mind, will and emotions) and physical body. These “religious” Christians who solely devote all their time and energy to church activities become unbalanced in their whole being and find them selves unhappy or burned out of their spiritual lives. They failed the importance of tending to their soul which involves recreation, social involvement, personal growth, emotional and psychological developments. As a result, these religious Christians become emotionally and psychologically detached from their social needs or sometime even to natural or physical realities. These Christians later find themselves in the predicament of isolation. Isolation then produced loneliness, and loneliness to depression. Depression in a person’s being is liable to produce all sorts of body illnesses.
Some Christians become physically ill because of not taking care of their physical bodies. They neglected the importance of physical fitness then suffer the consequences of various diseases or illnesses in their bodies.
Clearly the bible states that God wants us to be happy and have fun in our lives here in earth as he wills for us to be happy in heaven someday according to Matthew 6:10 and John 10:10. This means that the will of our God is the same for his children in both worlds: to be full of joy and living an abundant life in heaven AND in earth. But for us to achieve this desirable state in this physical world, we need to be balanced in all areas of our being, and every aspect of our lives. We need to tend to our whole being: spirit, soul and body.
- We need to dispel the perception of the people outside the church who thinks that a Christian life is boring, dull, and a life that is restricted. In contrary to the public notion, we Christians, through Jesus, have been anointed or gifted by God to live a free, exciting and joyful life. Yes, there are restrictions of abstaining from sin, which is for our own good, so we can avoid the undesirable consequences of sin. For every sin has its consequence. However, the biblical truth remains the same: We, Christians, are the most blessed people in this earth because of our relationship with the only true living God. Therefore, we Christians ought to be the ones demonstrating to the world of what a true, full, blessed and victorious life is from God. A life that is full of joy, peace, deliverance, guidance, provisions and blessings. We need to show the world that we have the overflowing joy of God from the inside of us which then manifests on the outside through our fun activities, good behaviors, positive attitude, and healthy lifestyle. This fact however, is not to suggest that we are perfect and our lives are problem-free. Of course not, the truth is, the bible states in Psalms 34:19, “Many are the afflictions (troubles) of the righteous (Christians), but the Lord DELIVERS him out of them ALL”. That is the difference between Christians and non-believers: we Christians have a true substantive hope of deliverance from all our troubles through our faith in the unfailing promises of God. Therefore, as members of this club, we can demonstrate to all participants that in spite of all the troubles and challenges we are facing today, we can still enjoy and celebrate life because of our confidence in the promised salvation and deliverance of our Lord God.
- A Christian Sports and Recreation Club gives us an opportunity to meet and enjoy the company of other Christians within our community through our fun-filled activities. It gives us a chance to meet other people with similar interests, learn new hobbies and even gain new friends. It allows us to connect to people who may never want to step inside a church to hear the gospel. More importantly, it gives us a unique time and place to reach out to those who are in need of encouragements: whether encouraging fellow believers to keep their joy as they are experiencing some struggles and challenges in their lives or helping non-believers find Christ.
Non-believers most likely are not interested in going to a church to hear about Christ but would be willing to join an event that they find interesting and exciting. The club activities and events will give us a special way to introduce Jesus Christ in a fun and non-religious setting to those who do not know him.
